Visiting Hours
Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern at Jacksonville Medical Center, and, in order to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations have been established for each unit. The General Visiting Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Due to patient privacy requirements, any information about the patient’s diagnosis or treatment must come directly from the patient to concerned family members or friends. No information will be given out by the switchboard operator or nursing personnel. The patient may be reached by dialing 256-435-4970 and asking for the patient by name.
ICU Visiting Hours:
9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Visitors in the Intensive Care Unit – Immediate family members only
No children under age 12 permitted

Lobby Areas
There are specially-designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care units, the Emergency Department, and Surgery.
